    Q. What will happen to a Classic Roof in a lightning storm?

    A. Despite what you might think, an aluminum roof does NOT attract lightning. So you don’t have to worry about your home, even in the fiercest electrical storm.

    Q. What about hail?

    A. No problem! The dimensional beauty of our metal roofing systems prepares them to take whatever Mother Nature dishes out – including hailstones. All of our products meet Underwriters Laboratory’s UL 2218 Impact Resistance Testing at Class IV, the most severe test. What’s more, our products are warranted not to leak or chip due to hail impact. In fact, you might even get a discount on your homeowners insurance in area's were hail damage is common! Ask your agent.

    Q. When it rains, will it sound loud on the roof?

    A. No. Another benefit of the rugged-looking texture is that it actually quiets the rain on your roof. Our roofs' deep-textured folds break up the “pinging” effect you might expect from a flat metal roof.

    Q. What about fire?

    A. Unlike many other roofing materials, our roofs are fire-resistant and will not support combustion. Blown-on embers and fireworks are not a concern. You can sleep easily on the Forth of July!

    Q. What's better, steel or aluminum?

    A. While both roofs will typically perform better than other types of roofing aluminum offers several advantages over steel in roofing applications. Depending on where you live, marine air can be very corrosive to steel. Marine air carries salt and other minerals and is deposited on and under your roof. These deposits become more concentrated over time and corrosion will occur. Aluminum is not affected by these deposits in any way. Corrosion is completely covered by our aluminum warranty versus a limited coverage for steel products. Also, aluminum is more efficient thermally so air conditioning bills drop dramatically with installation as well as summer comfort levels in non air conditioned homes. Aluminum is lighter by 50% or more by comparison to a steel roof making it better for earthquake prone areas. Aluminum is 90-98% recycled content versus steel at 20-45% so aluminum is the greener choice. Aluminum holds a "finish" better than steel so it has a much longer aesthetic life span. Another consideration is that steel gutters are virtually unavailable today because of corrosion problems. The gutter market is completely dominated by aluminum.

    Q. Can we walk on it?

    A. Sure! Aluminum does not loose strength over time. Also, the deep folds and textures give our roofs even greater strength, so they can handle occasional roof traffic with minimal care. We can also design your roof specifically for high traffic loads if needed. No other system offers this option! Ask your representative for details.

    Q. What is the difference between your roof systems and purchasing metal roofing through a national home improvement chain?

    A. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality products and service. Our products are only distributed through a highly qualified, tightly knit network of independent dealers trained in providing customers top quality service, installation and peace of mind. The home improvement chains carry a narrower array of products and are installed by subcontractors. By choosing Perfection Roofing, you are assured top quality products, serviced and installed by the best.

    Q. Does a metal roof cost more than a traditional asphalt shingle roof?

    A. Because our metal roofing is a premium home improvement product with a life expectancy of 100's of years and significant resale value it is not meaningful or relevant to compare initial costs with low cost, low value short term organic roofing like wood shake or paper composition. Additionally, the area you live in, choice of contractor and materials used also play heavily into the prices for any roofing project. It is safe to say that our permanent systems are more costly initially. However, our systems compare very favorably in terms of cost to other long lasting roofing materials such as slate, ceramic tile and copper and many inferior metal systems and will outlast and outperform those products.

No matter which of our systems you choose, once installed, you'll never have to worry about your roof again! Plus, your new metal roof will add to the resale value of your home, save you money on your energy bills and maintenance, and give you piece of mind that you'll never have to re-roof again!

    Q. How much longer will a Classic Products roof last over common roofing like asphalt or wood shingles?

    A. You can expect a Classic Products roof to last forever! Rustic Shingle installations done in the late 1950’s look just as good as jobs done recently in the Seattle area. In general terms, count on an aluminum roof lasting as long as the structure stands!

To put it in context, the average life span of a wood shake or asphalt roof is 12 to 20 years (in spite of weak warranties and claims to the contrary). That lifespan can be shorter depending on many factors. Made of oil impregnated paper, asphalt begins to deteriorate as soon as you expose it to normal weather. Shakes deteriorate rapidly as well in spite of frequent and costly cleanings and treatments. A metal roof, however, will never decompose!

Other roofing materials like cement tile have varying degrees of weather-related problems that lead to breakdown. Concrete tile roofs can crack and warp in the freeze/thaw cycle of more northern climates. Some other new products like re-cycled rubber and plastic formed into shake profiles have traditionally not fared well in actual usage. A consumer should always be concerned about the history of any product they are considering. Successful “new” building products are a rarity and certainly not the norm.

All of the above roofing materials are well-outlasted by Classic Products roofing, which retains its good looks and durability decade after decade after decade.

    Q. Is a Classic Products roof environmentally responsible?

    A. Not only are our systems great for your home, they are great for the environment! Our aluminum systems are 95% recycled content, 100% percent recyclable and have a life expectancy of 100's of years. Your home will never need another roof. Also, they are Energy Star rated and qualify for the Energy Tax Credit. These are by far the most environmentally responsible roof systems on the market.

    Some interesting facts;

According to the National Association of Homebuilders Research Center, 20 billion pounds of asphalt shingles are dumped into U.S. landfills every year. If you loaded those shingles into tractor trailers, then lined them up end-to-end, they would make a line from New York City to Los Angeles , back to New York City again, then on to Chicago .

That's a lot of wasted landfill space. Also, the space wasted is among the most valuable due to the hazardous nature of roofing debris. This is also true of treated wood shake products. In fact the treated shakes are so toxic they have been banned in most parts of the U.S. and virtually all other countries outside the U.S. with its powerful timber lobby. Additionally, our roof systems can often be installed over your current roof without tearing off what's already there, this helps to reduce this excessive "temporary roofing" shingle waste.

    Q. Metal roofing seems to have a lot of options; how can I sort my way through everything?

    A. At Perfection Roofing, we pride ourselves on working closely with anyone who is interested in metal roofing. One of the great things about metal roofing is the wide variety of products which is available. However, that variety can be quite overwhelming and even confusing. Fact is, in many cases, metal roofing products are being used inappropriately. There are products which really are not intended for residential application but they are being used residentially. We pledge to be your information source for metal roofing. Please feel free to Contact Us, email (info@PerfectionRoofing.com) or call (1-866-874-7663) so that we can discuss your particular needs. If we do not have the right product for your home, then we will direct you to other manufacturers who do.

    Q. How do I clean and maintain this roof?

    A. First of all, there is NO REQUIRED MAINTANENCE with any of our products. Even significant accumulations of debris will not cause and damage to the roof or create leaks. However, should you wish to keep your roof looking like the day it went on you can clean it using conventional methods. The fact that the roof does not deteriorate means that it will look just like a new roof!

    Q. What if my roof is damaged or I need to ad on in the future?

    A. The unique way the roof is attached results in us being easily able to make small repairs without tearing the whole roof apart. The fact that it will not fade means we can match colors exactly in the repaired areas and in the case of an addition.

    Q. Can this roof help me in an earthquake?

    A. The light weight of our roofs will benefit most homes in an earthquake. Heavy roof systems are generally considered a liability in an earthquake. In short, lighter is better.

    Q. Can/should this roof be installed over my existing roof?

    A. The ability to install our roofs over existing roofs is one of the most valuable advantages of our systems. This ability adds greatly to the environmental advantages of our system. It also can have a significant effect on the cost of a new roof. The product was in fact designed from the start over 50 years ago to do just that. However, an on site inspection by qualified personnel is the only way to determine if this is the appropriate way to roof your home.

    Q. How long have you been in business?

    A. Perfection Roofing LLC was formed in 2000. However our parent company Classic Roofing Supply Inc. has been the exclusive distributor for all Classic Products since 1994. Classic Roofing Supply is one of the largest distributors of Classic Products in the U.S. and has been recognized by Classic Products for customer service and sales every year since it opened in 1994. Perfection Roofing has proudly received the manufactures Award of Excellence for the past 6 years.

    Q. Do you use sub-contractors?

    A. Perfection Roofing does not use any sub-contracted labor. All installation personnel are full time company employees that have special training in the installation of our products.
